Before you buy a new home, you really need to read articles like this. Although no person can really predict acurately what will happen to home prices, you should be aware of the possible scenarios...whether good or bad. At this writing, I am of the opinion that home prices are still declining on a national level. When they do hit bottom, it will be a very, very long road back to peak values.
If I were to buy a home today, I would be offer 50% less than current market value and foreclosure sales must be factored into that value. And I wouldn't pay more than 25% less than current market value. To do otherwise would be foolish...And making someone else rich.
