The Righteous Lender..."Will Surely Live," Declares The Lord

Not only is there righteous
and unrighteous money, there are also righteous and unrighteous
lenders. But how do you know which is which? Simple...see what God's Word
says in Ezekiel 18.
The Word of the Lord came to Ezekiel and in starting in verse 5, God describes a righteous man. He says that a righteous man practices justice and righteousness. He then goes on to describe how that righteous man acts or behaves.
In regards to our Righteous Lender He says he: Verse 7: "Does not oppress anyone, but restores to the debtor his pledge." The Righteous Lender does not oppress the one who he has lent to. To oppress means to be raging against someone, suppressing them and maltreating them. That is pretty severe. That is what the unrighteous lender does to you. And debt certainly suppresses you.
Verse 8: "Does not lend at interest or take any profit, withholds his hand from injustice, executes true justice between man and man." The Righteous Lenders does not charge interest/usury to the one he has lent to. His lending is out of love and an act of mercy to the one in need.
So the Righteous Lender does not oppress nor charge interest to the one he has lent to. God declares "he is righteous and will surely live."
Then we have the Unrighteous Lender. God describes him as violent. He says he:
Verse 12: "Oppresses the poor and needy, commits robbery, does not restore the pledge." The Unrighteous Lender is an oppressor and a thief (by the way, this is what our government does to us too with taxes and debt).
Verse 12: He "lifts up his eyes to the idols, commits abomination." Is that someone you want to deal with and be in bondage to?
Verse 13: "Lends at interest, and takes profit." The Unrighteous Lender is exactly the opposite of the Righteous Lender.
But God asks a question about the Unrighteous Lender. He asks "Will he live?" His answer is:
"He shall not live. He has done all these abominations; dying he shall die; his blood shall be on him."
God calls his unrighteous deeds an abomination...To God that means disgusting!
So now you know the difference between the Righteous and Unrighteous Lender and I trust you are in favor of the Righteous Lender. With that being said, I would encourage you to think about the following questions:
As a Christian who is not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers and/or unrighteousness nor to defile himself, should you borrow money from the Unrighteous Lender (bank, mortgage broker, mortgage lender, auto lender, credit union, Guido, etc.)?
As a Christian should you work for an Unrighteous Lender?
As a Christian should you be in the mortgage or lending business originating, underwriting or serving in any capacity where you help put another individual and perhaps a brother or sister in Christ into bondage to the Unrighteous Lender and their debt?
As for me, I answerd NO to all of those questions and left the mortgage origination business in the summer of 2008. I gave up more money than I make now that is for sure, but I have gained spiritual blessing and I am no longer doing or partaking in what God calls an abomination.
I urge you to search the scriptures and compare what God says about righteous money and lending to our unrighteous and corrupt monetary and lending system.
