The Exclusive Kingdom of God by Paul Green on Lew Rockwell deals with what I call the "Two Kingdom Principle." The Two Kingdom Principle is the principle that as Christians we live and reside in one kingdom (the world), but are not of it or in allegiance to any government. It also means that the role of the Body of Christ is not to set up "Christian Governments" or theocracies.

Our role in this world is to:

Follow an obey Jesus Christ our King and no earthly king
Live holy and righteous lives in a corrupt and depraved world
Edify the Body of Christ and be truly "members of one another"
Spread the true gospel of peace and salvation in a loving way
To respectfully and lovingly speak up for righteousness and against unrighteousness

Our role is not to:

Set up theocratic or Christian governments
Try to legislate morality
Elect "Christian" men to office...The Body of Christ and the state or seperate and distinct and one should not be part of both..."You can not serve God and mammon." The state is secular and run by pagans that God has ordained. God has not ordained Christians or the Body of Christ do create laws for pagans, oversee and rule over pagans and to judge pagans.
Defend a pagan, secular, corrupt and unrighteous state, government or nation...even the good ol' USA.

Give To Caesar; Give To God by Jason Hommel an interesting article about rendering unto Caesar. I don't know that I agree with all of it and perhaps that is because I am not clear on what he means. I am especially thinking of his reinterpretation of Romans 13. He says this "Here it is, more properly translated, if you know that WE, Christians, are KINGS and authorities." Perhaps I am misunderstanding his thoughts, but what I am reading here seems to imply that Christians are authorities. He rewrites Romans 13:1 to say "Everyone must submit himself to WE THE PEOPLE UNDER GOD." So is he saying that every pagan and citizen of a country is to submit himself to the Body of Christ and that Christians/the Body of Christ are to rule over or to be the authority of pagans? If so, I very much disagree. The Body of Christ is ruled by the Chief Shepherd, Jesus Christ. And He/Jesus ordains under-shepherds (aka Elders) to oversee and "rule well" over the Body of Christ in individual locations. Jesus has not ordained His under-shepherds nor the Body of Christ (aka Christians) to rule and be in authority over pagans or pagan nations. Our Kingdom is not of this world!!!
