If you have children, then there's no doubt that you have asked your child if he or she is paying attention to you. You might be discussing something with your child and your child is looking the other way or his mind is off in Never Neverland. But when you ask him if he is paying attention, he says "yes." But then doesn't have a clue as to what you were saying.

This is exactly how most people are today when it comes to the economy, society and the church.
