Does Buying & Owning Gold Demonstrate A Lack Of Faith? While some may say it does, I say it demonstrates wisdom.

If I shouldn't buy, own and hold gold because it demonstrates a lack of faith, then I shouldn't even get a job and just trust that the Lord will provide.

Anyway, I thought this was a good article. It comes form a gentleman named Steven C. Peters. You can go to his Website Gold Saftey Secrets here for more informaiton.

Below is the article.

It is all over the New Testament that faith matters a lot to God. In fact, it is the vehicle that allows His power to operate in peoples lives. So, to our question - is it lack of faith to be considering the purchase of gold to protect some of your assets with the world's economies in such dire shape? Isn't that a disguised form of self-reliance?

In Jesus' day, gold was money. It stayed that way for thousands of years. Money not backed buy gold is a relatively new phenomenon. It started at the back end of The Great Depression and by 1971; President Nixon removed the last few strings tying the US Dollar to any relationship to gold. If you tracked the financial history of our generation like I do, you would easily see the correlation between this disconnect and the financial problems we have faced off and on over the last 70 years. The majority of economic problems we are experiencing today would have been avoided if we were still on the Gold Standard... (Where physical gold was required to be held as reserves in relation to the amount of US dollars created and released into our economy.) What we have today is a piece of paper that everyone agrees to use as money. Its value is our agreement to use it. And the Federal Reserve with authorization of the US Congress continues to print more and more of it creating more dollars chasing the same goods and services...usually that means prices go up. Many believe that when the banks and other institutions start releasing the recently created money into the economy - prices will go way up. Inflation is almost sure to be the next thief stealing your money; and this could happen soon, real soon.

From my perspective, gold was provided on this planet to become money - to be used as a medium of exchange. It's no accident. For gold to be used as money, everyone needs to agree that the metal has value. They have been agreeing on that for almost 5000 years.

You may not know that even though our currencies are not backed by gold anymore, Countries and their Central Banks around the world have started to buy gold and store it - more like hoard it. Why would they do that if there is no correlation to their currency? I know why and I show you how to get answers to this and many more similar questions at the bottom of this article.

Back to Faith, God, Christians and Gold....as far back as Haggai 2:8 the bible references gold. This verse says that all gold belongs to God: "The silver is Mine and the gold is Mine," declares the LORD of hosts. We have heard passages stating the streets in Heaven are paved with Gold. Psalm 50:10 says "the cattle on a thousand hills are God's." Everything is God's, and He wants His children to use and enjoy what He created. As we have already said, Jesus used gold to fund activity during His three years of ministry. Judas kept watch over these funds. So, the real question is who do you think God intended to own this gold...Christians or satans bunch? It is for us, and I think the current economics suggests that it is time you think seriously about that.

I can hear some of you already - "Yeah but doesn't the bible say that money is the root of all evil?" No, it does not. It says the LOVE of money is the root of all evil and a person can be guilty of this and not have a dime. It is like anything else - it is Godly to own gold, it is un-Godly to have gold own you.

Jesus said, Seek Ye First the Kingdom of God and His Righteousness and all these things will be added unto you. He was talking about material blessings. A large part of how we get there and why God wants us to have an abundance is to give unto others...richly. Luke 6:38 says give and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over.....

Well what about our initial question - is it lack of faith to acquire wealth - or Gold? Isn't it holier to be poor? No and No for sure!

I can tell you from first hand experience that like many, I believed it was holier to be poor...or at least care less about money. I also believed that real faith meant that I should not interfere...I should just sit back prayerfully and just let it happen. That did not work very well for me for a long time. But I was wrong - young and immature in The Faith. I do believe having a lot of money is challenging....it can easily corrupt. We need the re-born Spirit of Jesus Christ - the Holy Spirit to help and guide us...and we need to do our part. God gave us a mind and intended for us to use it.

Additionally, I was wrong on how getting gold or wealth was going to happen. I believe it happens by giving and it will come to us through other people. God accomplishes a lot through other people. If we finish Luke 6:38, it says, "Give and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over.....shall men give into your bosom." God brings it to us through faith and work through other people...and "For with the same measure you mete withal, it shall be measured back to you again." This is one of the great truths in God's Word. Luke Chapter 6

As far as I know - in the entire Bible, there is only one time that God said go ahead - test me. It is in Malachi 3:10: Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, so that there may be food in My house, and test Me now in this," says the LORD of hosts, "if I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you a blessing until it overflows. Another translations says: and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts; if I will not open you the windows of heaven and pour you out a blessing that there shall not be room enough to receive it. Malachi 3:10

I believe all good things are for God's people...including gold. I also believe we get more of it by giving it away. I combine my 24 years of equity and gold markets experience with international business experience and my faith in the risen Savior Jesus Christ to communicate this to you. A major mission in life for me now is to get the right information into my Brothers and Sisters hands so they can accomplish this without the many mistakes most gold buyers make.

You should be starting the process to acquire gold right now. I believe we are going to need it before this economic crisis is over; and if you are new or unsure about how to go about it - start learning immediately. I don't sell gold - I used to, but not anymore. My single purpose now is to educate. I spent a year putting together the information which I lead you to below.

So in summary:

1. All gold is God's.

2. God made it for His people

3. We get more of it by giving it away...God says "test me" one time in the Bible with this promise

4. We get more of it through other people - God uses others to bring it to us.

5. We are meant to live in victory while we are here on Earth. It is not just suffer, then go to heaven

Praise God!
