As a follower of Christ, I do not believe it is my scriptural duty to vote for representatives in a pagan government. When I cast a vote, I am typically casting a vote for the lesser of two evils and no Christian should be voting for any evil, for anyone unrighteous. When you do, you become part and parcel of whatever unrighteous legislation or agenda that representative votes for or sets.
I believe that Christians are not be involved in worldly affairs and politics and government is a worldly affair. It is of Belial. God has ordained the secular government and I see nowhere in the New Testament (and neither did the early church) that Christians are to hold political office in a pagan government.
But, it is our duty to stand up in a Christ-like way to point out the unrighteousness of this world and point people to God's laws and Jesus Christ. Anybody can vote, but few are willing to truly stand up and point out the unrighteous...instead they just go right along with them.
Yes, write your representatives about issues, but when you do, bring the Word of God to bare when you do. Demonstrate from God's Word what certain legislation or agendas are an abomination to God and let them know the consequences.
And if you do decide to vote...for a genuine Christian, there is no other choice than Ron Paul. CASE CLOSED. When you know the truth about Ron Paul, the truth about our corrupt government and the truth about what God opposes, you will see he is the only choice.
