We Don't Need No (Public) Education

Here's an interview with John Gatto, a retired public school
teacher of almost 30 years, who left because he no longer wanted to harm
the children.
John Gatto has written "Underground: History Of American Education" and "Weapons Of Mass Instruction" as well as some other books on education. If you are in the education system, these books may prove helpful to you. What I find disheartening is, with all the evidence about the failures of government education, the propaganda of government education, the ungodly peer pressure, the ungodly worldviews of most of the teachers, why in the world would so many "Christians" let their children go into an abominable system. Parents are to protect their children and when they send them off to government schools (and many private & Christian schools) they are throwing their children into harms way. It is good to see that Christians that serve the government education system are starting to leave Sodom and Gomorrah. But then I have to ask, why so many professing Christians continue to teach and serve in such an ungodly system. I know that many want to be a positive influence on the system and I am sure some are. But the question to ask is, does God want the holy mixed with the profane? "And they shall teach my people the difference between the holy and profane, and cause them to discern between the unclean and the clean." -Ezekiel 44:23 |
